Role Summary/Purpose:

Seeking a Senior Analyst who will be part of Credit MIS and Reporting team (1st LOD). The candidate will be responsible for supporting data aggregation for ongoing Regulatory reporting efforts, ensure accurate and timely delivery of reports for external reporting and various ad hoc special projects.

This position is remote, where you will work from home, and may require you to occasionally commute to one our offices for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and culture events. Essential Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for interpreting reporting requirements and corresponding data extraction from multiple data warehouses, perform validation to support  critical Regulatory and other internal reports

  • Conduct analytical reviews of regulatory reports to ensure that the balances, variances between periods and trends are reasonable and sufficiently explained. Recognize, investigate, document and explain fluctuations and trends to the management.

  • Recommend process improvement opportunities to streamline the process, anticipate problems, enhance accuracy, completeness and timeliness of the reporting process

  • Participate in the research and implementation of new and revised regulatory reporting requirements Performs data and process validation during testing and production phases of projects and ongoing work efforts.

  • Perform deep dives into the data to respond to CFPB/OCC data questions, investigate potential data issues and propose solutions

  • The successful candidate must possess the ability to regularly and effectively communicate with partners, stakeholders on multiple projects

  • The candidate must have a strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team to offer and implement solutions to achieve business objectives

  • Perform special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required


  • Bachelor’s Degree or in lieu of a degree, 3+ years of relevant experience in financial reporting or financial data analysis.

  • 2+ years of programming experience in Oracle, SQL, SAS.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience dealing with complex and large data sets from multiple sources to support analytical processes.

  • Quantitative, analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.

  • Hands on or ability to learn visualization tools SAS VA, Tableau, Excel.

  • Undergraduate degree in Statistics, MIS, Finance, Engineering, Economics

  • Post Graduate in Statistics / Economics with experience using statistical techniques

  • Action oriented, takes initiative to challenge current processes and implement change

  • Exposure to finance industry or knowledge of SYF credit card business

  • Credit card analytics experience

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.  Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.  Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months’ time in position before they can post.  All internal employees must have at least a “consistently meets expectations” performance rating and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance requirement).

The salary range for this position is 52,000.00 - 110,000.00 USD Annual

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA and Metro NY and some positions are bonus eligible.
