We are seeking someone to manage our Adaptive Logic Development team here at ExploreLearning, this team the logic behind many of our e-learning applications and games used by students including for Frax, a new game-based program that helps students finally understand fractions. In this position, you will transform pedagogical sequencing and prioritization guidance into the game logic that controls the student experience. Your team will also analyze detailed student data to identify opportunities for improvements in efficacy, efficiency, and engagement.
- We are open to this position being fully remote with in the USA or being based out of our Charlottesville, VA headquarters.
Develop authoritative knowledge of our adaptive logic engines and how to leverage them to meet the pedagogical needs of a wide variety of games
Evolve and extend existing engines or design new ones as needed to improve outcomes
Oversee data analytics efforts to identify opportunities for pedagogical improvement
Ensure that team members have clear direction, and the overall team is scaled appropriately to meet demand
Create and communicate reference materials that clarify associated processes to facilitate straightforward communication amongst collaborating teams
Manage our correlations/standards alignment systems
Experience leading teams of engineers and / or data scientists
Professional experience designing and/or leveraging complex logical/quantitative systems. Possible examples include (but are not limited to):
Mathematical models of complex physical systems
Logical models for complex software systems
Content-based recommendation systems
AI-systems for games
Advanced degree in physics, mathematics, engineering, operations research, or computer science
At least 4 years’ experience collaborating on digital products
Professional experience leading teams on technical tasks
Strong organizational and communication skills
Experience in education or education technology
Experience collaborating with, leading, or managing cross-functional, technical teams
5 years’ experience managing technical teams
Proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language, preferably Java, TypeScript, C#, or Python
Familiarity with relational databases and their operation
