This position will lead assigned project and program elements as assigned in projects required in WFS, responsible for all business process and technology design, development, testing and implementation activity across WFS, in their assigned programs and projects, primarily the Land segment, for the automation and digitization of global fleet and 3P hauler logistics, and the unification of systems and process across the North America Land OperationThe individual is responsible for analysis of business requirements and production of Statement of Requirement documentation or Agile equivalent, and for coordination, management and delivery, of taskings for staff of varying size, comprised of business analysts, developers and quality analysts, internal and vendor based, as required, to deliver the business requirements as identified and specified in the SOR. This individual will utilize a combination of local and near-shore resources to develop, deploy and maintain all applications and interfaces within the area of responsibility.  This individual will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of the applications supported by the initiatives, and assist with other systems, programs and projects, in a similar capacity, as required.  The individual must be a good communicator at all levels and be able to describe and explain the role of technology in business terms.  This person must develop a detailed understanding of the business processes and application landscape of the WFS businesses, to synthesize diverging priorities into pragmatic technology recommendations, for business and IT leadership.  The Project Manager will be a champion of the agile methodology and structure.  This individual will demonstrate a passion for inspiring, mentoring and developing people and groups. This leader must possess a strong business foundation, combined with a technology vision, having proven expertise in driving business improvement by utilizing a stable, consistent and modern technology platform. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the design and delivery of solutions that meet business needs, while accomplishing long term supportability and maintainability of the WFS technology stack.

  • Partner with business leaders to understand new opportunities and collaborate on the proper solutions.

  • Collaborate closely with business leaders and with senior IT leadership to develop and implement a technology roadmap that integrates Land operations onto a common platform to the largest degree possible.

  • Coordinate a team of cross-functional professionals that contain expertise in the WFS functional and technical product portfolio for Land.

  • Manage the expectations of IT leadership and the WFS business community during the development delivery lifecycle.

  • Suggest technology innovation ideas to enable efficiencies and generate new opportunities for business growth.

  • Mentor and grow the capabilities of program staff, whether direct reports or collaborative teams, internal, or vendor based.

  • Partner management of key vendors to ensure accountability and delivery.

  • Overall financial management of program cost and benefits to track alignment to CER (Capital & Expenditure Request – aka business case containing cost and benefits).

  • Establish, coordinate, or participate in regular steering committees, where required, to report progress to key stakeholders.

  • Establish PMO processes and methodologies and identify opportunities to broaden and standardize PMO process and methodology across WFS.

Desired Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience in a mid to large multi-national company utilizing a combination of packaged and bespoke applications.

  • Experience managing a customer-focused team in a rapidly growing environment.

  • Functional and technical knowledge of core business processes such as Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Inventory, AR/AP, etc. 

  • Strong understanding of data driven decision making and business metrics.

  • Experience of partnering with business leaders to understand their needs and designing and delivering innovative solutions to fulfil those needs.

  • Passion for driving software development quality.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
