Scale Plastiq’s risk and compliance engine to power our high growth while keeping fraudsters out. As Director of Product Management you will work with our engineering and risk teams to understand their pain points, outline OKRs for success and scale our risk engine. This includes but is not limited to our score-based rules engine, front end and back end models, a queuing system for risk agents and much more. 
If you are a strategic thinker, have a deep understanding of how risk can be a significant enabler for growth and have built products and systems to reduce fraud and credit risk we want you at Plastiq. You will be the resident expert for the risk and compliance domain at Plastiq. You will bring payments product experience supporting Small and Medium-sized Businesses (SMBs) and a track record of enabling growth while maintaining acceptable losses. Last but not the least you should love data.

Your Responsibilities

    • Own all Plastiq Risk and Compliance products
    • Define OKRs for success such as % automated decisioning, bp in losses, time for decisioning, etc.
    • Significantly delight our customers by leveraging risk as an enabler of growth
    • Think out of the box and identify opportunities where we can build world class risk solutions either in-house or via partnerships
    • Work directly with our VP of Product Management and Head of Risk Operations to shape the long-term product and business direction
    • Work with a cross-functional team of engineers and risk analysts to create internal tools, reporting, and infrastructure to identify, analyze and prevent suspicious activities, including but not limited to: fraud, transaction monitoring, chargebacks, and account takeover
    • Collaborate with external partners, bank issuers, and data vendors to send and receive data and drive end-to-end integration
    • Champion and promote our product-led growth culture

    • Machine learning product management experience

Your Minimum Required Experience

    • You have 7+ years of experience in a Risk Product Management or Risk Analysis role
    • Have written requirements for score-based rules engines, statistical front end and back end models, risk queues, etc.
    • You hold a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in math, science or an area of technology
    • Extensively worked with risk and compliance teams to track needs, deduce insights and build features accordingly
    • Display top-notch verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong project management skills, and willingness/ability to own key parts of the product, end-to-end
    • Experience influencing and collaborating at the executive level
    • Experience in experimentation, and A/B testing a plus
    • Preferred experience with mitigating fraud and credit risk in the SMB space
